$100 for a Day: $115.51 Median, One Token Left
- $100 into each of today’s 12 hot tokens 24 hours ago gives a median of $115.51, the best day since September 14
- The spread is extreme: $100 in AD becomes $20,556.84, $100 in WALLET is worth $27.03
- Four filters (liquidity, turnover, participant ratio, not brand new) leave exactly one token: PONS at $120.62
The daily back-test: if you had put $100 into each of today's twelve Robinhood Chain hot tokens 24 hours ago, what would each be worth now?
Today's answer: a median of $115.51, a best of $20,556.84 and a worst of $27.03. That is the strongest day since September 14 ($118.91), and a big step up from yesterday's $94.22.
Up front, though: this is a look back, not a forecast, and it carries a serious survivorship bias — these twelve are on the board precisely because they did well today, and you did not know yesterday which twelve they would be. More on that below. Snapshot time 2026-09-18 00:08:32 UTC.

Eight of twelve finished above $100, four below. Median $115.51; ex-stablecoin median $120.62.
The average is a liar
Twelve positions of $100 is $1,200 deployed. The total is now worth $21,815.65 — an 18x on paper.
That number is meaningless, because $20,556.84 of it is one token. Remove AD and the remaining eleven positions turn $1,100 into $1,258.81, up 14.4%.
This is the real shape of memecoin returns: one outlier sets the average, while the median tells you what picking one at random probably does. That is why we only ever publish the median.
Against the last week
| Date | Median |
|---|---|
| 09-11 | $94.68 |
| 09-12 | $101.13 |
| 09-13 | $88.30 |
| 09-14 | $118.91 |
| 09-16 | $95.88 |
| 09-17 | $94.22 |
| 09-18 | $115.51 |
Four of seven sessions came in under $100. Even if you bought, every single day, exactly the tokens that would be on tomorrow's hot list — an impossible assumption to begin with — the median outcome loses money half the time.
Four filters leave exactly one token
We have run the same filter set daily since September 10. The rules are deliberately dumb:
- Liquidity ≥ $20,000 (thin pools cost you on entry and exit)
- Turnover ≤ 10x (above that is violent rotation, not accumulation)
- Distinct buyers > distinct sellers (participants, not transaction counts)
- At least 24 hours old (no zero-hour launches)
Exactly one token passes all four today: PONS, at $120.62.
Pass rates individually: liquidity 11 of 12, turnover 9, participant ratio only 3 (PONS, AD, WALLET), age 11. Today's bottleneck is the participant ratio, which matches the daily report: 9 of 12 tokens were sell-side.
Notice that the filters exclude today's biggest winner, AD (seven hours old), and also exclude today's biggest loser, WALLET (12.42x turnover). The filters are not there to catch AD. They are there to avoid WALLET. Judging them by AD's $20,556.84 gets the purpose backwards.
Three discounts you have to apply
Every number above is paper arithmetic. Real outcomes are worse:
- Slippage. AD's pool holds $43,999. A $100 buy is fine at that depth, but scale the position and impact cost eats the move fast. The back-test assumes you fill at the quoted price; you do not.
- Pool fees. Fee tiers on this chain vary enormously. WALLET has an 8% pool today; SHINY grew an 81% pool 97 seconds after launch. Route through the wrong one and your $100 does not come back whole.
- You have to be right on both sides. MUSEBOOK's $286.24 assumes you bought 24 hours ago, but its 6h is -15.65% — buy at the six-hour-ago price and you are down now. A "24h change" is not the return of any actual position.
Survivorship bias is the biggest discount of all
These twelve are today's hot list, selected for volume and gains. Yesterday at this hour you did not know they would be these twelve.
The fairer exercise runs the other direction: what happened to yesterday's list? Yesterday's golden dog MUSEBOOK is still here (+186.24%), but yesterday's WAIFU has fallen off the board with its main pool down 85.2%; yesterday's HBET did $1,417 of volume today; and of yesterday's ten new launches, only DEPTH is still trading (trace here).
Fold that in and the honest expectation for "buy one at random" is a lot lower than $115.51. We covered this specifically on September 7 and the conclusion still holds: a hot list is an outcome, not an entry signal.
Today's takeaways
- The $115.51 median is the second-best session of the week, but four of the last seven were under $100.
- Returns are extremely concentrated: AD alone accounts for over 94% of the paper gain.
- The four filters leave only PONS today, and the binding constraint is "distinct buyers > sellers".
- The filters exclude the biggest winner and the biggest loser alike — they are a variance tool, not a golden-dog finder.
The full board is in the September 18 hot tokens report; today's two golden dogs are covered in What Is $AD and $MUSEBOOK Day Three; the biggest loser is in $WALLET: 70 Days of Dead Money. For charts and holder distribution, open the $PONS trading page.
FAQ
How is the $115.51 median calculated?
By back-calculating $100 through each of the twelve hot tokens' 24h price changes in today's research pack, then taking the median. It excludes slippage, pool fees and tax.
Why not use the average?
Because AD's +20,456.84% drags the average somewhere useless. The twelve positions total $21,815.65 and $20,556.84 of that is a single token.
Why do the filters exclude AD?
It is seven hours old and fails the "at least 24 hours" rule. The filters exist to cut variance, and the price of that is missing the most extreme moves.
Can I trade this back-test?
No. These twelve made the list because of how they performed today — the survivorship bias is severe. A hot list is an outcome, not an entry signal.
What cost do people most often forget?
Pool fees. On this chain the same token can have pools from 0.25% to 81%. Check which pool you are routed through before you sign.
