$100 for a Day: $275 Best, $7.28 Worst, $98.07 Median
- $1,200 across the board becomes $1,489.46 (+24.1%), median only $98.07
- Chasing yesterday's only golden dog, ASHIBA, leaves $100 at $69.05
- Excluding turnover above 50x drops one token and lifts the return to +34.7%
If you had put $100 into each of the 12 tokens on the Robinhood Chain hot board 24 hours ago, you would be holding $1,489.46 as of 2026-09-10 00:09 UTC — up 24.1%.
But the median is $98.07. Pick one at random and you are more likely to be down. That is the second consecutive day with a median below $100 (Sep 9 was $97.84).
Below is today's full wealth-effect math, and then something more useful: four selection filters back-tested on today's board to see which lifts both the return and the median.
$100 for a day, all 12 tokens
| Rank | Token | 24h | $100 now | Liquidity | Age |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | PONIE | +175.42% | $275.42 | $43,923 | 68h |
| 2 | ROBIN | +134.32% | $234.32 | $297,973 | 103h |
| 3 | RECEIPT | +112.99% | $212.99 | $106,090 | 33h |
| 4 | ZZZ | +25.43% | $125.44 | $524,405 | 120h |
| 5 | SIRIUS | +13.38% | $113.38 | $83,296 | 255h |
| 6 | CHUMP | +7.03% | $107.03 | $1,221,327 | 982h |
| 7 | CASHCAT | -10.90% | $89.10 | $2,959,380 | 1685h |
| 8 | AI | -11.49% | $88.51 | $20,815,557 | 1374h |
| 9 | PONS | -13.13% | $86.87 | $8,529,063 | 1294h |
| 10 | RUBEN | -19.93% | $80.07 | $5,539 | 41h |
| 11 | ASHIBA | -30.95% | $69.05 | $36,837 | 34h |
| 12 | CRUMBS | -92.72% | $7.28 | $52,325 | 24h |
Totals:
- $1,200 in → $1,489.46 (+24.1%)
- Mean $124.12, median $98.07
- 6 winners, 6 losers — an exact split
- Best $275.42, worst $7.28 — a 37.8x spread
The 26.7% gap between mean and median is survivorship bias made numeric. PONIE and ROBIN carry all the excess return: strip those two out and the remaining ten turn $1,000 into $979.72 — a loss.
"Buy yesterday's golden dog" lost 31% today
The only token meeting the golden-dog bar on Sep 9 (24h ≥ +100% with liquidity ≥ $20k) was ASHIBA, then at +613.18% on $132,005 of liquidity.
Today it is -30.95%, with the main pool down to $36,837 (-72.1%). $100 became $69.05.
Yesterday's #2 and #3 gainers, AP (+26.86%) and DELTA (+10.60%), have dropped off the top 12, so there is no current data for them and we do not back-calculate.
This is the fourth consecutive day we have logged the same pattern: a golden dog is usually off the board the next day, or on it and falling. On Sep 8 it was three of four golden dogs gone overnight.
Four filters, one day
Same $100 per token, different buying rules:
| Rule | Hits | In | Now | Return | Median |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Buy everything | 12 | $1,200 | $1,489.46 | +24.1% | $98.07 |
| Liquidity ≥ $100,000 only | 7 | $700 | $944.26 | +34.9% | $107.03 |
| Age > 100 hours only | 7 | $700 | $844.65 | +20.7% | $107.03 |
| Exclude turnover > 50x | 11 | $1,100 | $1,482.18 | +34.7% | $107.03 |
| Cap ÷ liquidity < 20x only | 7 | $700 | $846.70 | +21.0% | $88.51 |
Three readings:
1. Excluding extreme turnover is today's best value per unit of effort. It drops exactly one token (CRUMBS, 188.6x) and takes the return from +24.1% to +34.7% and the median from $98.07 to $107.03. One rule, one action.
2. "Deep pools only" made the most money. +34.9%, and it removed CRUMBS, ASHIBA and RUBEN in one pass. The cost was missing the board's top gainer, PONIE, whose pool is only $43,923.
3. "Low cap-to-liquidity only" failed today. CRUMBS (5.9x) and RUBEN (0.6x) both have low multiples and both collapsed. A low multiple says the valuation is not inflated; it does not say anyone is bidding. Every single metric has a day where it breaks.
To be explicit: this is a one-day lookback, not a validated strategy. Twelve samples, a 24-hour window — a different day could invert every conclusion. We covered the trap in detail in the $700 → $1,242 flaw: the board is itself a survivors list, because everything that went to zero yesterday is already off it.
What two sub-$100 medians in a row means
| Date | Best | Worst | Median | $1,200 across the board |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2026-09-09 | $713 | $6.28 | $97.84 | — |
| 2026-09-10 | $275.42 | $7.28 | $98.07 | $1,489.46 |
The shape is nearly identical two days running: the upside is shrinking ($713 → $275.42), the downside is unchanged ($6.28 → $7.28), and the middle half stays underwater.
Pair that with today's chain-level numbers — board volume +31.1% while board liquidity is -10.2% — and the mechanism is visible: money is churning faster through thinner pools. In that structure, rallies are sharp and declines have no cushion.
Three things to take away
- Do not let the mean flatter you. The +24.1% basket return comes from two tokens; you are far more likely to draw the median.
- "Yesterday's golden dog" is one of today's worst lists. ASHIBA: -30.95% price, -72.1% liquidity.
- An exclusion rule often beats a selection rule. Removing one high-turnover token today moved the median from underwater to above water.
FAQ
How is the $100 figure calculated?
Directly from the data pack's 24h change: $100 × (1 + 24h change). It is a lookback assuming you bought at exactly that price 24 hours earlier and held to 2026-09-10 00:09 UTC, before slippage, fees and taxes.
Why is the median more useful than the mean?
Because memecoin returns are extremely skewed. Today's best and worst differ by 37.8x, so one or two tokens drag the mean anywhere. The median is what "picking one at random" actually looks like.
Will these filters make money consistently?
No. Twelve samples over one day, on a board that already carries survivorship bias. Filters are worth using to cut tail risk, not to guarantee returns.
Which token carries the most risk today?
CRUMBS: -92.72% in 24h, 188.6x turnover, 24 hours old, 20 pools. See the CRUMBS post-mortem.
