$100 for a Day: $94.22 Median, One Token Did It All
- $100 in each of 12 tokens → $2,349.01 total, $94.22 median, $195.75 mean, 4 green
- MUSEBOOK alone gained $1,203.73, more than the whole $1,149.01 net gain; the other 11 lost $54.72 combined
- Six-day medians: 94.68 / 101.13 / 88.30 / 118.91 / 95.88 / 94.22, below $100 on five of six days
Same experiment every day: 24 hours ago, put $100 into each of today's 12 Robinhood Chain hot tokens. What is it worth now? This is hindsight, not a forecast; 24 hours ago you couldn't have known today's list. It answers a different question: does blindly spreading money across hot tokens make or lose money on this chain right now? Data time: 2026-09-17 00:09 UTC.
Today's answer
| Token | 24h change | $100 is now |
|---|---|---|
| MUSEBOOK | +1,203.73% | $1,303.73 |
| ORBIO | +80.69% | $180.69 |
| ROBIN | +18.92% | $118.92 |
| DELTA | +14.67% | $114.67 |
| USDG | -0.26% | $99.74 |
| NET | -5.06% | $94.94 |
| AI | -6.50% | $93.50 |
| DPONS | -6.93% | $93.07 |
| PONS | -9.26% | $90.74 |
| STANDARD | -28.91% | $71.08 |
| PAR | -34.11% | $65.89 |
| HBET | -77.97% | $22.03 |
- $1,200 in → $2,349.01 now (+95.8%)
- Median $94.22: 8 of 12 slots lost money
- Mean $195.75; 4 of 12 green
- Excluding the USDG stablecoin (11 tokens): median $93.50, mean $204.48
One token made more than all the profit
Yesterday STANDARD produced 92% of the gain. Today is more extreme: the 12 slots netted $1,149.01, and MUSEBOOK alone made $1,203.73. The other 11 slots lost $54.72 combined. Without MUSEBOOK, the remaining 11 average $95.03 with a $93.50 median.
Twenty-four hours ago MUSEBOOK was a few hours old, and the website attached to it didn't even mention a token (see What is MUSEBOOK). By any "research before you buy" standard, you would have skipped it.
At the other end is HBET: $100 became $22.03. It was also the easiest slot to avoid in advance: 48 hours old, 17 buyers vs 54 sellers, and a ring of 20% to 81% fee pools around its main pool.
Four filters, re-run
Filter A: liquidity ≥ $500,000
Keeps 9 (MUSEBOOK, ORBIO, DELTA, USDG, NET, AI, PONS, STANDARD, PAR). Median $94.94, mean $235.00. It catches MUSEBOOK and dodges HBET, but lifts the median by only $0.72.
Filter B: market cap ÷ liquidity < 10
Keeps 7 (MUSEBOOK 3.6, NET 4.2, AI 9.8, DPONS 7.9, STANDARD 1.6, PAR 3.7, HBET 1.4). Median $93.07, mean $249.18. Best mean, but it lets in the two worst tokens, HBET and PAR. A low ratio sometimes just means the price has already collapsed.
Filter C: 24h turnover < 5x
Removes MUSEBOOK (13.9x), USDG (19.6x) and DPONS (21.9x), keeping 9. Median $93.50, mean $94.72. Today this rule filtered out the only golden dog, making it the worst of the four.
Filter D: unique buyers ≥ unique sellers
Only NET survives (479 vs 455): $94.94. MUSEBOOK missed by 17 people (4,425 vs 4,442). So many tokens had more sellers than buyers that this rule nearly emptied the list, which is a signal in itself: when this filter leaves one token, the tide is going out.
| Rule | Kept | Median | Mean |
|---|---|---|---|
| No filter | 12 | $94.22 | $195.75 |
| A Liquidity ≥ $500K | 9 | $94.94 | $235.00 |
| B Mcap/liquidity < 10 | 7 | $93.07 | $249.18 |
| C Turnover < 5x | 9 | $93.50 | $94.72 |
| D Buyers ≥ sellers | 1 | $94.94 | $94.94 |
All four medians land between $93 and $95. No rule pushed the typical outcome above $100 today.
Six days in a row
Medians: Sep 11 $94.68, Sep 12 $101.13, Sep 13 $88.30, Sep 14 $118.91, Sep 16 $95.88, Sep 17 $94.22 (no run on Sep 15). Below $100 on five of six days. Meanwhile the mean gets dragged above $100 by a single token almost every day: STANDARD on Sep 16, MUSEBOOK on Sep 17.
The relay is the interesting part. STANDARD, which carried yesterday's mean, is a $71.08 slot today. Yesterday's runner-up WAIFU (+147.25%) fell off the list today with its main pool down 85.2% (see WAIFU day two). Today's winner is tomorrow's loser candidate.
What today actually teaches
- Use the median. "Hot tokens averaged +95.8%" is true and useless.
- Small positions, many slots. The return comes from the token you didn't know about. Concentrating lowers your odds of holding it.
- Cut the slots you can read in advance. HBET's risks were visible before the move. Avoiding it is far easier than catching MUSEBOOK.
- Don't relay golden dogs into day two. STANDARD and WAIFU both made that point today.
The median vs the mean, in one picture
Imagine the 12 slots as 12 friends who each put in $100. Eight of them are now holding less than $100: STANDARD's friend has $71.08, PAR's $65.89, HBET's $22.03. Three are modestly up. One, holding MUSEBOOK, walks away with $1,303.73. The group chat says "we nearly doubled our money," and it is technically true. But ask any of the 12 how their day went and the most common answer is "I lost a few dollars." That gap between the group's average and the typical member's experience is the whole point of tracking the median. Any headline that averages across hot tokens describes the lucky friend, not you.

FAQ
Why include the USDG stablecoin?
To keep the method consistent with previous days (always the 12 listed tokens). Excluding it doesn't change the conclusion: median $93.50.
Can I use this experiment to pick tokens?
No. It is hindsight, meant to calibrate expectations: the typical day on this chain's hot list is currently a small loss.
How do I limit the worst daily loss?
Size positions so a zero doesn't hurt; avoid tokens with clearly more sellers than buyers or a ring of high-fee pools; don't buy golden dogs on day two.
