What PONIE actually is

The project site poniethepon.com (fetched 2026-09-10) calls it "the adorably vacant mascot of Pons" — a small green house guy "with the IQ of a pebble." Its own tagline: "The lights are on, but nobody's home."

Token facts listed on that page:

Socials: X @PonieThePon, Telegram t.me/PonieThePon. CoinGecko lists it under the Robinhood Chain Meme category.

One thing to be precise about: "mascot of Pons" is the project's own claim, not an official Pons issuance or endorsement. We found no public statement from Pons claiming PONIE. That is the same category of risk as the fake $LAPTOP from Sep 8, just far milder.

Why it pumped

1. Wide participation, not one whale. 1,957 distinct wallets bought and 1,905 sold in 24 hours. Buys and sells came in at 5,498 : 5,489 — almost perfectly symmetric — and the average trade was about $85. That is retail passing the ball around.

2. 21.2x turnover. $929,252 of volume against a $43,923 pool means the money in the pool changed hands 21 times in a day. High turnover is neither good nor bad on its own; it just tells you this is speculative churn, not accumulation.

3. The valuation is not floating. A $243,114 market cap is only 5.5x liquidity — the lowest ratio on today's 12-token board. For comparison: ROBIN 43.7x, CHUMP 33.0x, PONS 56.9x. The lower the multiple, the closer the paper valuation sits to the real money in the pool. How to use that metric: market cap ÷ liquidity explained.

The 80% trap: you might execute in an 89% fee pool

PONIE has three pools (2026-09-10 00:20 UTC):

All $PONIE pools
PoolLiquidity24h volumeIn-pool priceCreated
PONIE / WETH 0.25%$41,163$937,740$0.000217502026-09-07 03:56
PONIE / USDG 89%$404$44$0.001696772026-09-07 19:30
PONIE / USDG 21%$214$7$0.000216722026-09-09 23:17

Look at row two: an 89% fee pool quoting $0.0016968, which is 7.8x the main-pool price. Put $100 in there and $89 goes to fees before the absurd quote even touches you. It holds $404 of liquidity and did $44 of volume yesterday — meaning somebody actually walked into it.

Anyone can deploy a pool like this and leave it sitting for a router or an inattentive trader to hit. There is exactly one defence: confirm the pool address and fee tier before you sign. In our trap-pool survey a single hot token had 11 pools, seven of them charging 80% or more.

How to buy PONIE on Robinhood Chain

  1. Get gas. Robinhood Chain (chainId 4663) uses ETH for gas. Bridge ETH over first.
  2. Check the contract: 0x9aa0c0ca88e6ae43a3d229afc373c0b9f2b53521. Duplicate tickers are routine on this chain.
  3. Use the main pool only: PONIE / WETH 0.25%.
  4. Do the slippage math. A $41,163 pool means roughly $20,582 on the quote side. Under the constant-product formula, your order size relative to that reserve is approximately your price impact:
    • $500 buy → about +2.4%
    • $1,000 buy → about +4.9%
    • $5,000 buy → about +24.3%
Plus the 0.25% pool fee. At this depth, market orders above $5,000 are mostly you trading against yourself. See how to set slippage on a thin pool.
  5. The BigPump PONIE page gives you the chart, the trade feed and an in-page swap, so you are not guessing which pool you landed in.

FAQ

Is PONIE an official Pons token?

No public data confirms that. The site self-describes as the Pons mascot; we found no endorsement from Pons. Treat it as a community token.

Does PONIE have a tax?

Its site states "0/0 tax". Note that pool fees and token taxes are different things: the main pool charges 0.25%, and the other two charge 89% and 21%. Those go to LPs and have nothing to do with the token contract.

Is PONIE still a buy?

For: green in all three windows, 5.5x market cap to liquidity, nearly 2,000 distinct buyers. Against: a $43,923 pool, sells outnumbering buys in the last hour, no concentration data today, and only 68 hours of history. Both sets of facts are true at once — your position size should come from your rules, not from the percentage. Not investment advice; memecoins can go to zero.

How do I make sure I am not buying a fake PONIE?

Match the contract address, 0x9aa0c0ca88e6ae43a3d229afc373c0b9f2b53521, and nothing else. See same ticker, different contract.

How do I launch my own mascot coin?

BigPump takes no code and no upfront liquidity; the bonding curve graduates at 4 ETH of accumulated real ETH into a Uniswap V2 pool with the LP burned. See book.bigpump.ai or go straight to launch.
