A Stablecoin on the Hot List: +460% Volume Is Really -53%

2026-09-17 · 4 min read · By Leo Park · BigPump Blog
TL;DR
  • USDG is a dollar stablecoin. It made the list because its 0.01% USDG/WETH pool traded $488,483,545 in 24h, 19.6x turnover
  • With USDG, hot-list volume is +460% and liquidity +34% vs yesterday; without it, volume is -53% and liquidity -9%
  • Three steps: remove quote assets, separate token-wide from single-pool numbers, count people instead of trades

Rank #9 on Sep 17's Robinhood Chain hot tokens list is a token priced at $0.9988 that moved -0.26% in 24 hours. It is USDG, a dollar stablecoin. It is not a meme and it did not pump, yet its volume flips the conclusion of the whole list. This post explains why it is there and how to read a hot tokens list without getting fooled.

One stablecoin, 91.6% of the volume

All 12 hot tokens combined traded $533,189,460 in 24 hours. USDG alone was $488,483,545, or 91.6%.

Why it made the list

Nobody is speculating on USDG. That pool is the chain's main ETH on-ramp. Anyone swapping ETH into dollars, or dollars into ETH on the way to a memecoin, is likely to route through that 0.01% pool. 30,000+ unique buyers and 210,000+ buys are mostly the chain's ETH in-and-out flow.

USDG's role on this chain makes this likely to repeat. It is issued by the Paxos-led Global Dollar Network, and according to a KuCoin flash report, Robinhood Chain chose USDG as its native stablecoin. On DexScreener, the deepest USDG-quoted pools are PONS/USDG ($4,833,673), CRCL/USDG ($1,894,613), a Ramses PONS/USDG pool ($1,652,904), MEME/USDG ($1,279,621) and AI/USDG ($1,132,048). Today's golden dog MUSEBOOK has 22 of its 30 DexScreener pools quoted in USDG.

Leave it in and you reach the opposite conclusion

Same list, two stories: "money is flooding in, 4.6x" or "volume halved." The second is what the meme market actually did today: 10 of the 11 non-stablecoin tokens had more unique sellers than buyers. If you use total hot-list volume to decide whether to ape in, a stablecoin would have pulled you in today.

One more caveat: five tokens changed between the two days, so the totals are not like-for-like anyway. Removing the stablecoin is the first cleanup step, not the last.

What today's list looks like after cleanup

Without USDG, 11 tokens remain. Four rose over 24h (MUSEBOOK +1,203.73%, ORBIO +80.69%, ROBIN +18.92%, DELTA +14.67%) and seven fell. Ten had more sellers than buyers, with 15,042 unique buyers against 16,037 sellers in total. On a 1h view, buys (1,753) beat sells (1,313), so some dip-buying is under way, but the 24h structure is distribution. That is a long way from "volume up 4.6x."

Three steps to clean a hot list

Step 1: remove quote assets

Look at stablecoins (USDG), WETH and heavily used quote tokens separately. On this chain AI (Artificial Inu) is the quote asset for at least 8 tokens (our Sep 16 count), and stock tokens such as NVDA and META are the main-pool quotes for ORBIO and MUSEBOOK. A quote asset's volume includes other tokens' trading, so it does not measure demand for the quote asset itself.

Step 2: separate token-wide from single-pool numbers

The research feed uses the main pool. DexScreener often shows all pools. MUSEBOOK's main pool is +1,203.73% in the feed but +26,182% at pool level on DexScreener. ROBIN's biggest pool ($1,232,296) traded only $11,925, while the real action was in its $145,676 pool. Before comparing numbers, ask: is this one pool, or all of them?

Step 3: count people, not trades

210,000 USDG buys sounds huge, yet unique buyers (30,499) trail sellers (32,491). MUSEBOOK's 91,943 trades came from 8,867 buyer-plus-seller participants. Bots inflate trade counts easily. Headcounts are much harder to fake.

How to do this on BigPump

Every token in BigPump's Robinhood Chain hot list opens into a trade page with candles, recent trades and swaps. Suggested routine:

  1. Skip stablecoins like USDG and known quote assets.
  2. For the rest, open the trade page and check whether the same few trade sizes keep bouncing back and forth.
  3. Cross-check unique buyers and sellers in the daily hot tokens report before sizing even a small test position.

Open the USDG trade page today and the price line is almost flat. That is what "hot but not an opportunity" looks like.

FAQ

Is USDG a memecoin?

No. USDG (Global Dollar) is a stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the US dollar. Its price is designed not to move.

Does USDG on the hot list mean money is flowing into the chain?

Not necessarily. Its volume includes both buying and selling ETH, and unique sellers (32,491) slightly outnumber buyers (30,499).

Will USDG stay on the hot list?

Probably often. As long as the USDG/WETH pool is where the chain swaps ETH and dollars, its volume will dwarf most memecoins. Treat its presence as background noise, not news.

What else should I strip from a hot tokens list?

WETH, major stablecoins, and tokens widely used as quote assets (today: AI, NVDA, META).

What does the pool setup look like for a BigPump token?

A BigPump token trades on a bonding curve first. At 4 ETH it graduates into a single Uniswap V2 pool with LP burned to the dead address. After that, anyone can still create extra pools on other DEXes, so check pools before trading. See the docs and the launch page.
