Robinhood Chain Rug-Pull Checklist: 8 Checks Before You Buy

2026-09-05 · 4 min read · By Leo Park · BigPump Blog
TL;DR
  • Verify the contract address first and last six characters — copycat tickers are among the chain's most common scams.
  • A single wallet above 20% or a top-10 above 50% is enough to skip. SHRUB sits at 45.1% and 77.1% today.
  • New listings under an hour old have no on-chain history to judge; today all 10 have $27–$4,997 of liquidity.

Robinhood Chain has real money and real predators on it. The documented pattern list includes honeypots, copycat tickers, and tokens that simply vanish after purchase, and at least one CASHCAT holder reportedly lost $56,000 to a compromised contract (Crypto Briefing).

You cannot make yourself scam-proof. You can make yourself expensive to scam. Here are eight checks, in order, each with a real example from the board at 2026-09-05 00:09 UTC.

1. Verify the contract address — first six AND last six

Names and logos can be copied perfectly. Addresses cannot. Scammers generate addresses with matching prefixes, so checking only the front is not enough.

Real addresses from today's board, useful for practice:

2. Check liquidity in absolute dollars

Below $20,000 you may not be able to exit at any price you would accept. Today PONSERS sits at $44,087 and LEGS has been drained to $75,174 while trading $3,467,223 in a day.

3. Check the largest single wallet

Above 20% is a red flag on its own. SHRUB has one wallet at 45.1% against a $541,093 pool. PONS has one at 29.5% — smaller in percentage, larger in dollars, on a $507M cap.

A concentrated wallet does not prove bad intent. It proves that one stranger's decision outweighs the entire market's.

4. Check the top-10 share

Above 50%: skip. SHRUB's top-10 hold 77.1%, meaning roughly 23% of supply is genuinely free-floating and the headline market cap is close to meaningless.

Today's cleanest for contrast: INDEX 15.2%, MEME 13.9%, HOOKR 16.9%.

5. Check market cap ÷ liquidity

Above 100x, the paper valuation has no real exit behind it. SHRUB is 154x. PONS 81x, CASHCAT 77x. MEME is 45.9x, AI 9.8x.

6. Check the contract on the explorer

On Blockscout, look for: is the contract verified (can you read the source), when was it created, and what does the holder list look like. An unverified contract on a token asking for real money is a reason to walk, not a reason to research harder.

7. Check the timeframes for distribution

A token can be technically fine and still be a trap right now. CINEMA shows +175.56% on 24h while sitting at -73.37% over 6h and -31.68% over 1h. That is not a rug — it is worse in a way, because the board makes it look like an opportunity. Full explanation: The 24h green trap.

8. Be honest about brand-new listings

All 10 new listings in today's snapshot — MYRIC, HAYDUN, BRAINDEAD, SLINK, TULY, ZZZ, TOOTSIE, BEGGARTIP, HODL, GME — are under one hour old, with liquidity from $27 to $4,997 (three showing negative, i.e. essentially empty), and no public holder or volume data.

At that stage every one of the checks above returns "unknown." That is not a filter you passed; it is a filter you could not run. If you buy anyway, call it what it is: a lottery ticket, sized accordingly.

What this checklist cannot do

Be clear about the limits so you do not develop false confidence:

Where to run the checks

Six of the eight are on one screen: the BigPump hot tokens board shows liquidity, market cap, holders, top-1 and top-10 share, age and all three timeframes per token, and every token page adds the chart, trade tape and holder distribution with an in-page swap. The other two — explorer verification and address confirmation — take a browser tab.

FAQ

What is a "vanishing token"?

A pattern reported on this chain where tokens disappear from wallets or become untradeable after purchase, leaving buyers with nothing and no recourse (Crypto Briefing). Verified contracts and established holder bases reduce, but do not eliminate, the exposure.

Is a high top-10 share always malicious?

No — treasury, market maker and exchange wallets show up there too. But it only counts as an explanation if the project publicly identifies those addresses. Lil' Shrub does not: no public data.

Does locked liquidity make a token safe?

Safer against one specific attack. CHUMP, today's #1, states 0% tax, a renounced contract and permanently locked liquidity — and you should verify each of those claims on-chain rather than take them from a description. Locked liquidity does not stop the price going to zero.

How do I check the token I already bought?

Same list, in the same order. If it fails checks 3, 4 or 5 badly, the question shifts from "should I buy more" to "how do I exit in pieces without moving the price."

Is launching your own safer than buying?

Different risk, not less risk — but you control the supply. BigPump launches with no team allocation and no initial liquidity from you; at 4 ETH the token graduates to Uniswap V2 and the LP is sent to the burn address, so it cannot be pulled. /robinhood/create · book.bigpump.ai.
